Can you combine foil with other printing methods?

Absolutely! We love the interplay of textures and finishes. Foil stamping pairs beautifully with both digital printing for specific color elements and with traditional letterpress for a multi-dimensional, deeply tactile look. We'll work with you to create a harmonious blend of techniques.

Is foil only for text?

Not at all! While elegant foiling of names and dates is a classic choice, the possibilities extend far beyond. We can create intricate borders, delicate patterns, stunning illustrations, and bespoke monograms in foil. If it can be drawn, it can often be beautifully foiled to add that extra sparkle.

What's the difference between foil stamping and digital foil?

At Mary G Reis, we are committed to true quality experiences, which is why we exclusively use traditional foil stamping. This refined process involves a heated die pressing genuine metallic or pigmented foil into the paper, creating a slight indentation and a truly lustrous, opaque, and tactile finish. Digital foil, while quicker, lays a metallic toner on top, often lacking the depth, sheen, and luxurious feel of authentic foil stamping.
